Prime Time is that time in one’s life when you have gotten past the need to compete in the fast pace of a working world that doesn’t always honor your need to actually ENJOY your life! This time of life is usually after the last child is out of college or you realize that what stuff you have is enough and you realize that that’s not what’s important about life. It’s that time in life to let every day be determined by the joy you feel doing it! If you experience great joy doing something, then that means you likely want to continue with that activity, be it paid work, volunteer work, play, contemplating your navel, or making wooden bowls on a lathe! But, if you experience little joy in your day to day activities, you have earned the right to get out there and find out what it is that raises your joy level.
That’s what being in your Prime Time is all about. It’s like..there are no more “shoulds” in your life! Find your passion and go with it. That’s what I do with my new company, Prime Time Life Planning. I coach people in their quest to find and pursue their passion…That thing that gives them the most joyful day, everyday, for as long as they live!
Now for the curve. It’s not the money, because having a joyful life does not depend on being rich with money. You can be very full of joy with a lot less money then you think you can. You can be rich with good/great feelings that come from something other than money. (The “passion” search helps you figure out what that ‘currency’ is.)
The curve is: when your body lets you down. My husband just had a cervical discectomy with fusion at two levels. He was in severe pain. His doctor gave him some serious pain medication and within three days, he was dependent on them, even though they didn’t seem to help. His pain is gone after the surgery, but he has to be very careful and is wearing a big neck brace to keep his head from turning in any direction. He will have to have physical therapy after the 3 months of wearing the brace and hopefully this will help in the long run.
My point: take care of yourself! Don’t let your body interfere with your Prime Time!
